Quick Guide: Setting up initial MySQL root user password

After a successfull installation of MySQL you need to set an initial password for your mysql root user.

below are a quick way to do that (For Linux installation):

shell> mysql -u root mysql

mysql> SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost=PASSWORD('new_password');
